“Quench Not the Spirit” (1Thess 5:19)
and “Let all things be done decently and in order.” (1 Cor_14:40)
… So.. Pastors, Evangelists and Teachers, “Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season? (Mat 24:45) If repentance / holiness has been preached enough maybe it won’t be like Paul trying to feed the Corinthians; “I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able. (1Cor 3:2) We all need to start with a foundation of obedience to his Word and not be deceived for; “He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.” (1John 2:4-5) and “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever. (Psalm 111:10)
”God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day. If he turn not, he will whet his sword; he hath bent his bow, and made it ready” (Psalm 7:11-12)
— Too much teaching has been emphasized on the love of God and we have left off teaching about the severity of God. “And of some have compassion, making a difference: And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.” (Jude 1:22-23) For “The full soul loatheth an honeycomb; but to the hungry soul every bitter thing is sweet.” (Prov 27:7) For “Justice and judgment are the habitation of thy throne: mercy and truth shall go before thy face. “ (Psa 89:14) It is partly the church goers fault for having “itching ears” and it’s partly the church leaders fault for only speaking scriptures that are smoothe and pleasing man instead of God, “which trieth the hearts”(1Thess 2:4-6, Psalm 7:9)
— The Lord spoke to the churches in Rev’ 2-3 and it seems not much has changed. There are some that still do good defending parts of the Bible but change or leave out other scriptures / doctrine to suit their strengths or weaknesses. Just because you might not have certain gifts, like healing for instance, don’t dismiss the gift from the whole congregation or other elders. In James it says “Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.” (James 5:14-15)
— Or just because the congregation would like to be raptured out of here before we’re forced to decide if we love the world and it’s version of Christ more than we love the one true Jesus who will come where “Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him…” (Rev 1:7) ,, doesn’t mean we make up a theory that has almost no scripture to back it up, like the pre-trib’ rapture theory! Like Paul had to clarify for the Thessalonians in Thess’ 2 , certain things had to happen before Jesus returns, also being confirmed in Matthew 24… “For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.” (Galations 1:10)
Realizing it is to our benefit to be on fire to make it through the fire, as Jesus said “I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled? (Luke 12:49) and “Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is. If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon he shall receive a reward. If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.” (1Cor 3:13-15)
